Tony Martinez, a young man, returns from a stint in a reformatory, with the dream of breakdancing and rejoining his working class community. Tony tries to avoid being drawn in by the local gangs. But he soon learns that while he was gone, a small plane loaded with drugs crashed into a river nearby. Various neighbors are entangled in the incident. Along with his best friend Chayote, Tony comes up with a plan to bring justice to the community, while also trying to stay alive.

Cuba. August 1994. Carlos’s (13) world is collapsing: his small coast town turns into chaos, friends are leaving, his grandmother dies; he explores sexuality. He expected a normal summer, but now his emotions are upside down as he fights to survive his uncertain future when government policies change and thousands of Cubans throw themselves into the sea hoping to escape.

Ana is a 35 year-old divorced architect, with two little children. She is the daughter of Chilean exiles, and she was born in Costa Rica. Her parents had a relationship full of ups and downs, and Ana was always in the middle. When one of Ana’s children opens a Facebook account for his grandmother, Ana’s stability is shaken. Her mother reconnects with a long-lost love from the university and decides to take a trip to see him. From then on, Ana finds herself assuming the role her mother always had on her; one of repression and questioning. Even when Ana is a liberal woman who understands her mother’s needs and all the gaps she experienced in her relationship with her father; there is something in her which does not allow her to accept it.
Lara is a modern dancer who’s insecure about her talent but lives for her craft. When she gets offered a scholarship to join a dance company in Berlin for three years, her life completely changes. Going to Berlin means to leave everything that makes her country her home. This dream for which she has worked so hard, becomes an internal conflict that forces her to reevaluate her priorities and understand herself in a way she’s never done before.
“Moving so slowly” is a non-fiction film that follows the fate of different characters who, as immersed in a Kafkaesque story, await in queues that seem to have no end. In there, time and processes feel eternal. Our characters wait over and over and as long as they have to in this public institution, in order to solve procedures that put their future at stake. Their jobs, families and their own economic stability, depend on the arrival of formalities.

Doyenne tells the story of women in Costa Rican sports, the daily effort of those “Doyenne” to achieve their dreams and move their families forward. Doyenne narrates the struggle of women in a world where inequalities still exist, although they are not limiting to fight for what you want. The film seeks to highlight how the struggle of each athlete has never been only in their respective space, but also before a society that in many cases does not accept them, but then acclaims them for their sporting achievements.
